Hello. Hi. How are you?
Actually, don’t answer that, because we already know, and we feel it too, so let’s talk about something else:
Don’t Say Content returns Jan 14th
You’ve been seeing a bunch of replays in your feed lately, but on Jan 14th 2025, you will be getting a whole season’s worth of new episodes on topics like:
Do websites even matter anymore?
Why paid media is more customer-centric that your content these days 😱
Delegating creativity and taste
We also have a live episode coming with our friend
but we haven’t told him yet (asked?), so just trust us 😇In the meantime, thanks to all the folks who have contributed stories and opinions lately, they are making for some lively recording sessions!
How Top Companies Find Marketers Who Get Results
Tues, Dec 9th - Linkedin Live
“Who should I hire” is hands down the most common question I get about marketing, so I snagged
, Head of Marketing at Arc.dev (I haven’t lost the plot: they don’t just hire devs anymore) to talk brass tacks of finding and identifying the right marketer to hire.Send an anonymous tip to your founder/CEO or VC friends about the event, because I’m sure they need it more than you. Christine and I have hired hundreds of marketers between us, so our advice is gonna be more specific and definitely more advanced than most of the tofu articles out there.
We have some after-show goodies to share, too (just pass them right along to your boss, we all know they need it more than you do 😇):
Job description template and first principles from yours truly
Hiring guide (with som contributions from me) from Christine
(I wish I could say I’m being strategic here, but I’m not: we just haven’t finished them yet 😅 )
Come hang on Tues at 10am ET and share your hiring war stories with us or send your boss and we’ll help them out.
Sentimental moment
I remember when I quit Animalz, I had to ghost Rachel Downey, founder/CEO of Share Your Genius, because I had hired her to relaunch the Animalz podcast and needed to keep the news of my departure quiet for a few weeks.
It was tough. She was no longer a service provider to me, she was a friend who has also referred to me by a friend
(another truly formidable founder/CEO and marketer). Awkward. When she reached out after I announced leaving Animalz with no actual plan, she called me and said, “Let’s make something together.” I was standing on the roof of my building in Brooklyn, it was the middle of the day and I remember I had to squint because the sun was so bright.
“Funny you should ask. Margaret and I have an idea for a podcast…”
They’ve supported us ever since and honestly taught us everything we know about podcasting. They've helped Don't Say Content rank in the top 5% of global podcasts, and that's because they are a team of experienced & opinionated content strategists and producers lead us in creating excellent shows.
If you want to launch a high-quality podcast, I can't recommend them enough. (And tell Rachel I sent you! Here's her email: rachel.downey@shareyourgenius.com).
Love you bunches Rachel, Katie, Amanda and everyone else on the Share Your Genius team!
