Hello content friends! It’s time for some real talk:
Our culture doesn’t support women in the workplace effectively (or in some cases, at all), and it doesn’t support the men who are trying to operate and lead equitably, either.
But let’s give the bulk of the credit where it’s due: there’s a significant number of men and women who don’t behave in ways that support equal opportunity for success at work. And all this talk about diversity and inclusion has really just created a disguise for the same misogynistic behavior that now shows up more subtly, thus making it more difficult to identify, let alone fix.
Who else is tired of being the unpaid recruiter for female candidates? (Hint for dudes: the problem is that you don’t know any. Try networking with more women and taking them as seriously as you do men.)
Trigger warning: how many of you are tired of being held to perfectionist-level standards while your male counterparts are vehemently defended by their male bosses and you’re seen as antagonistic when you try to give feedback?
As a follow up to “Let’s Just Say the Things We’re Most Terrified of Talking About: We’ll Go First”, we’re getting even more vulnerable as we continue the discussion about the impact the still-misogynist world of workcraft is having on us personally, our friends, the industry and society as a whole.
And the biggest question on our minds: what happens if women simply opt out of the workforce altogether?
We know what you’re thinking and you’re wrong: we’re not mad, just disappointed 😈
❤️ Love you bunches,
Devin & Margaret
2 Pizza Marketing Podcast
Finally LinkedIn met Ashley and Melissa, hosts of the 2 Pizza Marketing pod (if you don’t know, now you know) and recorded an ep about marketing strategy, effective leadership and confronting toxic masculinity and gender bias at work.
Thanks for a great interview, Ashley! You set a high bar for pod-ing. I noticed the smoothness with which you guided me in, out, around and through topics, and it felt like a master class. Thanks for raising the bar, new friend.

When times are a changin' the rigidity of prescriptive playbooks simply don't work. Instead, companies need adaptive strategies that enable them to capitalize on timely opportunities (the term "growth hacks" comes to mind - with shame), experiment constantly all while making progress towards their growth goals. Is this the marketing utopia we've all been waiting for? Who knows, but we're excited to hear more about this new, more flexible approach from founder/CEO of Minuttia & GrowthWaves, George Chastiosis.
